Hawaiʻi Green Growth's Annual Reports

Since 2011, Hawai'i Green Growth UN Local2030 Hub (HGG) has worked to establish a public-private partnership committed to advancing economic, social, and environmental priorities. This effort is driven by the Aloha+ Challenge, a statewide commitment to achieve Hawai‘i’s sustainability and climate goals and the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

HGG continues to provide accountability and measure progress on this commitment through the Aloha+ Dashboard.

2024 Annual Report

The Hawaiʻi Green Growth Annual Report highlights the milestones achieved and key progress made in 2024 and spotlights the main initiatives of each of HGG’s working groups, which include: the Ala Wai Watershed Collaboration, the Measures Working Group, the Policy & Legislation Working Group, the Sustainability Business Forum, and the Hawaiʻi SDG Youth Council. The Report also updates on HGG’s suite of tools and offerings, including the Aloha+ Dashboard, which notes a high-level overview on the VLR process, as well as the Ala Wai Watershed Collaboration’s Community Investment Vehicle (CIVic) and the Mālama Implementation Tool. As the co-Secretariat of the Loca2030 Islands Network, the Annual Report also shares HGG’s contribution to the global Network of culturally-driven and locally-implemented solutions for sustainable development via the scaling of technical Dashboards using the Aloha+ template, engaging in solutions sharing via peer-to-peer Communities of Practice, and participating in global island leaders’ Summits to build partnerships for the island-led green growth movement.

Hawaiʻi's Voluntary Local Reviews

Hawaiʻi’s Voluntary Local Reviews assesses progress to date and provides benchmark data to inform decision-making, including on economic recovery, through the Aloha+ Challenge – Hawaiʻi’s framework to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Hawaiʻi is the first to present a comprehensive Voluntary Local Review at the statewide level – which includes all four counties – in the nation, and joins cities from Los Angeles to New York City, Bristol, Helsinki and others around the world that have reported progress. Produced by the Hawaiʻi Green Growth UN Local2030 Hub in collaboration with network partners from across government, business and civil society sectors, the report covers six-years of data on the Aloha+ Challenge, based on metrics that were co-developed by partners statewide across all four counties and used to track progress through the open-data Aloha+ Dashboard.
