April 2026 Inaugural Aloha+ Workday

Hawaiʻi Green Growth kicked off the Aloha+ Workday Series on Earth Day, April 22, 2026, in partnership with the Koʻolau Mountains Watershed Partnership (KMWP). KMWP is leading critical work to protect and restore Oʻahu’s watershed forests, advancing the Aloha+ Goal of Natural Resource Management, particularly Target 03: Watershed Forest Area.

Our network and team came together to spend Earth Day in action at the Ala Mahamoe site, to remove invasive guinea grass and Chinese violet, making space to replant native species including ʻulei and naupaka.
This work is more important than ever — recent Kona low storms have accelerated the growth of fire-prone invasive species. By restoring native ecosystems, KMWP is strengthening watershed health and increasing wildfire resilience across our islands.
