Hawai‘i Green Growth is a UN Local2030 Hub that brings together diverse public and private sector partners to catalyze action and scale local solutions for the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through strategic initiatives and partnerships, Hawai‘i Green Growth is working to scale the island models like the Aloha+ Challenge to support locally and culturally appropriate delivery of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Hawai’i’s sustainability model and Dashboard are being recognized and scaled globally from the UN and the Commonwealth to Tasmania and Pacific islands.
As part of this effort, Hawai‘i Green Growth has a Memorandum of Understanding with the Global Island Partnership and Polynesian Voyaging Society to uplift place-based models and support next generation leadership, using the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Hawai‘i’s Aloha+ Challenge as a shared platform for action, communication, and global impact. Hawai‘i Green Growth also has a MOU with Kamehameha Schools and the University of Hawai‘i to support educational pathways for next generation leaders from the “lo’i kalo to the UN” through the Aloha+ Challenge and SDGs. This partnership serves as platform to elevate educational, environmental, cultural and community outcomes, and advance local and global sustainability goals.
