Serving as the Community Outreach and Next Gen VISTA for Hawaiʻi Green Growth UN Local2030 Hub, Mandy collaborates closely with the Hawaiʻi SDG Youth Council to support and empower youth pathways towards sustainability in Hawaiʻi, oversees the membership process and manages the membership database, and strengthens connections with HGG partners and the broader community. Mandy is an alumna of McGill University, holding a B.A. in International Relations and Political Science. Her academic and personal journey has cultivated a deep interest in human rights and refugee issues, education, and environmentalism. Before joining the HGG team, she taught English in the beautiful mountains of Taichung, Taiwan, spent two eye-opening years as an au pair in Paris and Geneva, and served as the Sustainability VISTA for Hawaiʻi Afterschool Alliance. Deeply passionate about environmental conservation and protecting our beautiful island Earth, Mandy hopes to leave a lasting, positive impact on the world. In her free time, Mandy enjoys paddling with her canoe club, exploring the hikes and surf spots of Oʻahu, participating in conservation work days, and embracing the abundant and rich nature that Hawaiʻi has to offer.
